I thought the book was described really well and I could imagine it in lots of detail because of the way Beth Reekles described it! I really hope Beth gets far with her career as an author. I also liked the character of Elle's little brother and June, Lee and Noah's Mum. It is well supported by illustrations, which appear regularly.

The text is made up of sentences with up to three clauses, introducing more complex uses of present perfect simple, passives, phrasal verbs and simple relative clauses. If you're looking for a very romantic book or just can't decide on what to read next, read this! You won't regret it! I loved this book so much! It might even be in my top 20 of favourite romance books and I read a lot of romance books! I loved the characters of Lee and Elle especially Lee was my favourite though. The Kissing Booth, a Level 4 Reader, is A2+ in the CEFR framework. I was hooked on this book almost instantly and I have to admit, I had been reading it quite slowly but then I just had a day where I read it continuously and I finished the very next day. I felt you could relate to the book in lots of ways. Beth Reekles is only seventeen years old and she is an amazing author! She has such talent and her writing is so good! I really enjoyed The Kissing Booth and really hope she has another book out soon. She thought she had got over this stupid crush, but now it isn't a crush, it's serious, and Noah seems to feel the same way she does. When Elle and Noah kiss, Elle finds herself falling for her best friend's brother once again. She says it's her ex-boyfriend but Elle's already seated on the stool when she realises that it's not actually the girl's ex-boyfriend but actually Noah Flynn, Lee's older brother and the school bad-ass that everyone fancies. It's the school Spring Carnival and Elle and Lee have to decide on what booth they're going to run and they decide on a kissing booth.Įverything's going great until one of the kissers chickens out of kissing her next person. They finish each other sentences and they are practically joint at the hip. The 25-year-old writer is very happy with the way her characters are represented on screen and says she could not have a better cast.Rochelle Evans has been best friends with Lee Flynn since forever.
#The kissing booth book series
The film version of her book series stars Jacob Elordi, Joey King and Joel Courtney. When I couldn't find the book I wanted to read, I wrote it instead!" said Reekles, who was feted with the Wattpad 2011 prize for Most Popular Teen Fiction. I loved the bad boy characters, but everything seemed to be paranormal romance at the time (which I loved, but was a bit tired of at the time). "I was fifteen years old and desperate for a regular high school romance that didn't have the guy's best friend as a love interest.

Reekles was 15 and was tired of stories of "vampires and werewolves" when she wrote her first young adult novel "The Kissing Booth", publishing it chapter by chapter on Wattpad, a story sharing site. Yes, characters might not look the way you imagined, and the adaptation might create new scenes and cut your favourite parts of the book - but if it captures the emotion, the dynamics, the personalities that you loved in the book, that's when it can work really well," Reekles told IANS. "For me, as a reader, it's always when the adaptation captures the heart and soul of the movie. Reekles decodes why such book adaptations are instant hits. Several adaptations have become very popular, including the "Harry Potter" franchise, "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Princess Diaries" franchise among many others. This is not the first time a book for young adults or teenagers has been turned into a film. A third instalment is in post-production. Beth Reekles was a teenager when she penned the teenybopper rom-com "The Kissing Booth", which went on to become a hit film and also spawned a successful sequel for OTT.
